La versión original de ‘We'll Be Together’ fue compuesta y grabada por Sting en su segundo álbum de estudio de 1987 ‘...Nothing Like The Sun’. Un gran éxito en USA, la canción se convirtió en favorita en directo cuando Annie Lennox se unió a Sting en la fase norteamericana de su gira de 2004, Sacred Love Tour. Ambos tocaban su repertorio por separado y Annie se unía a Sting para hacer una versión del tema en todos los conciertos, lo que les llevó a grabar esta versión en 2009 para la banda sonora de la película 'Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason'.
"Every night after I’d completed the first part of the show I’d head back to my dressing room to get ready to get back on stage to sing ‘We’ll be Together Tonight’ with Mr Sting. And every night I’d wait and watch his show backstage until a few songs in, when it was my time to step back on board again. From the outset of the very first few bars of the song it always felt like a celebration. ‘Together!!! We’ll be together tonight!’ It was a statement - an affirmation from two performers and an incredible band, just sharing the joy and the love of music making. It doesn’t get much better."
